Description Godzilla Classic 1989 action figure
Godzilla, the destructive, radioactive primordial giant from the sea, is considered the founder of the Japanese monster movie genre Kaiju Eiga. And he's back, in the form of this officially licensed Godzilla Classic 1989 action figure. The movable action figure is modeled on the famous Japanese film monster from "Godzilla - The Primeval Giant" and resembles him right down to the back plates; an extra cool detail is the blue heat ray. The Godzilla figure is supplied in hinged display packaging.
The true-to-original figure is not only a tribute to the Godzilla films and the wonderfully trashy "Kaiju Eiga" genre, but also to the film technology of the time. In 1989, the radioactive monster was still portrayed by an actor in costume - which is more dangerous than you might think: the actor Kenpachiro Satsuma had to be rescued by the film crew when an air hole in his rubber suit suddenly stopped working.
Of course, Satsuma survived, and so did the immortal and recurring figure of Godzilla - now immortalized on your collector's shelf.
