With the PowerUp 2.0 you can already equip your paper airplanes with a propeller and let them fly for half a minute. The PowerUp 3.0 surpasses that by 195%, because with this gadget your paper airplanes can fly for up to 10 minutes. The best part is that you can now also control them remotely!
The starting point is, of course, a paper airplane. Instructions for various models are included in the set, as well as special paper for four planes and a special sheet in Da Vinci design, which is even waterproof. But you can also try your own proven models and, of course, fold new planes from ordinary paper again and again. Once the plane is folded, it is equipped with the propeller and the module that contains the transmitter and the battery. Both are connected by a carbon fiber that gives the airplane additional stability. The battery is charged via USB, and a charge is enough for about 10 minutes of flight.
In addition to the kit, you need the corresponding app for control, which is available for free download. The app runs on these devices:
- iPhone 4S, 5 or newer
- iPod touch 5th Gen or newer
- iPad 3rd Gen or newer
- iPad Mini
- as well as Android 4.3 or newer
In addition to the control function, the app also includes a compass, a horizon display, it shows the battery status and the height as well as the distance to the airplane. You connect your smartphone to the transmitter via Bluetooth 4.0. The control is intuitive: the direction in which you tilt your phone is the direction the airplane flies.
Once you have tested the stability of your plane and everything is in the right place and charged, you can start. Of course, you should always keep in mind that the paper airplane should not be damaged or lost due to strong wind or ponds. ;) The range of the transmitter is 55 m. You should not exceed this range, as the airplane could then get lost on its own. In most cases, however, it will probably just crash. ;)
If a collision does occur, the set includes a replacement propeller. Everything can also be safely stored back in the box until the next flight. :)
